Spanish II


                                      SPANISH CORRIDO PROJECT

For this project we had to write a corrido and a report, and complete a multimedia piece.  For the subject of all three of these pieces I chose Porfirio Diaz, who was the last leader of Mexico before the Mexican Revolution.  In my report I documented his life, from his birth in Oaxaca to his death in Europe after having been ousted from his palace by the revolutionaries.  
For my corrido I also documented Porfirio Diaz’s life but through the eyes of the revolutionaries, who are neutral up until when he gets into power, at which point they turn very much against him.  
The multi media piece I did was a political cartoon, which I thought was appropriate because Porfirio Diaz cracked down very hard on any forms of dissent, especially political cartoons.  The political cartoon echoes the famous picture of the segregation era water fountains, each labelled with the race that can drink out of them.  But instead of race I marked the fountains with RICH and POOR to illustrate the divide that Porfirio Diaz created between the classes during his reign.
In conclusion, this project was interesting and I learned quite a bit by participating in it.

     For this project me and a group of classmates, (Josh Giersch, Tony William, and Nano Rodd) had to create a video for Spanish class in which we taught or demonstrated a Spanish subject.  We chose to demonstrate preterit v. imperfect using the tale of an orange overthrowing an evil farmer to liberate his farm.  Yes, you read that right.  To achieve this project we all took on roles in the production and it ended up as such:
Josh Giersch:  Voice of the narrator, editor, cameraman.
Tony William:  Voice of the chorus singers, musician, prop man and editor.
Nano Rodd:  The evil farmer, editor and uploader.
Myself:  Voice of the orange, prop man.

La parte mas divertida fue también la recordar de la video, nos mas reír.

Estoy orgullas de la projecta es cómo rapido la projecto estuvo completar.

4.  ?Qué aprendiste por hacer este trabajo?
Aprendí cómo a voz-representar y cómo a esto una marionetista.

5/13/13 DP UPDATE
1.  The most difficult part of the project was when I was first writing my survival guide because I had to do quite a bit of research on the various subjects that my survival guide was about.

La parte más difícil del proyecto fue cuando yo estaba escribiendo mi primera guía de supervivencia, ya que tenía que hacer un poco de investigación sobre los diversos temas que mi guía de supervivencia fue de alrededor.

2.  The funnest part of the project was when I finished my survival guide and helped to build the set for the hotel.

La parte más divertida del proyecto fue cuando terminé mi guía de supervivencia y ayudé a construir el conjunto del hotel.

3.  What makes me proudest about this project is when I finished it all in good order after finishing everything and doing a good job at completing all parts of it.

Estoy orgullos hace más orgulloso de este proyecto es cuando terminé todo en buen estado después de terminar todo y hacer un buen trabajo a completar todas las partes de la misma.

4.  I learned a lot about Guatemalan culture, cuisine, and national issues while doing this project.  I also learned how to create set pieces under a strict deadline and also how to do a skit well.

Aprendi mucho acerca de la cultura Guatemalteca, la cocina y los cuestiones nacionales al hacer este proyecto. También aprendí cómo crear jugadas a balón parado bajo un estricto plazo y también cómo hacer bien una obra de teatro.
